A Legacy of Innovation at the NIH
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), established in 1887, stands as one of the world’s foremost biomedical research institutions. In the 1980s, Teledynamics partnered with the NIH to install a state-of-the-art track vehicle logistics system—a relationship that has grown stronger for over four decades.
What began as a foundational installation has since evolved into a high-capacity transport network, including three systems featuring nearly 100 stations and more than 200 automated vehicles. Through continuous maintenance, modernization, and technological upgrades, Teledynamics has transformed the NIH system into one of the largest and most sophisticated intra-campus logistics networks in operation today.

Expanding Innovation to China
In 2009, Teledynamics expanded into the Chinese market, establishing its China office in Guangzhou to better serve the region’s growing demand for advanced logistics solutions.
One of our earliest and most prominent projects in China was the installation of an Electric Track Vehicle logistics system at The First Hospital of Jilin University—a landmark implementation in the country. This extensive network, featuring over 110 stations, continues to operate reliably to this day, demonstrating the durability and performance of Teledynamics’ technology in high-demand environments.
Qingyuan People's Hospital: A Complex, High-Capacity Logistics Solution
In 2014, Teledynamics completed the installation of an Electric Track Vehicle logistics system for Phase 1 of Qingyuan People's Hospital. Over the following eight years, as the hospital underwent significant expansion, we successfully extended the system through Phases 2 and 3, adapting to evolving infrastructure and operational needs.
This project presented a number of significant challenges:
Limited internal space required innovative solutions, including the construction of extensive external building access points to accommodate the system layout.
With a peak daily load approaching 4,000 transactions, the system ranks among the highest-capacity installations of its kind globally, demanding exceptional focus in ongoing maintenance and system oversight.
The Qingyuan project stands as a testament to Teledynamics’ ability to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance logistics solutions in complex hospital environments.
Innovative Library Logistics at the New York Public Library
In 2016, Teledynamics designed and installed a specialized Electric Track Vehicle system for the New York Public Library, featuring an open-top container tailored specifically for book handling and accessibility.
To simplify book retrieval, the system uses coverless containers, allowing for quick and easy access. To ensure safe transport, each container is mounted on a 360-degree pivoting mechanism—a key innovation that keeps the books upright at all times. Whether the transport vehicle is moving vertically, at an angle, or even upside down, the container remains stable, and its contents secure.
This project is a prime example of how Teledynamics adapts its logistics systems to meet the unique needs of non-industrial environments like libraries—balancing functionality, user accessibility, and system integrity.
Tianjin Diyi Central Hospital: A Next-Generation Logistics System
In 2021, Teledynamics completed the installation of a state-of-the-art Electric Track Vehicle system at Tianjin Diyi Central Hospital, featuring our latest generation of station consoles. This large-scale project—comprising over 130 stations—marks another major milestone for Teledynamics in China.
Equipped with our most advanced hardware and software, the system has been operating with exceptional stability and efficiency, demonstrating the reliability and performance of Teledynamics’ next-generation logistics technology in high-demand healthcare environments.
